Re: Watch The Riches
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 7:53 AMAwesome! I just broke down and ordered cable. They're installing it on Wednesday. I was afraid I'd have to jump into the show without being able to see the pilot. I'm delighted that I don't! Thanks for the link. :) -

Re: Watch The Riches
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 10:07 AMI don't suppose anyone knows of a link where the show can be watched on a screen larger than four square inches? :) -

What an interesting show. Not what I expected. Definitely a good vehicle for Eddie. And did I see Eddie butt?? -

Re: Watch The Riches
Fri, July 6, 2007 - 9:23 AMEven if you've seen the pilot, the Riches is like Lost (and some other recent shows) -- very serialized -- they do try to include some important bits from previous episodes in the intro, but you're liable to lose a lot of the nuance of the show if you don't manage to see it in sequence. -

Re: Watch The Riches
Fri, July 6, 2007 - 9:34 AMAre they still showing it? What happened to it? I haven't seen it advertised or found it on TV for months. -

Re: Watch The Riches
Fri, July 6, 2007 - 10:29 AMThey're between seasons right now and apparently not showing the first season during the break. According to Wikipedia though it was FX second best premier (next to the Shield) and did really well for ratings, so it's likely they'll have a 2nd season in 2008.

Re: Watch The Riches
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 7:18 PMJust found this online, don't know if anyone else had seen this yet.
The FX network will air the second season of "The Riches" sometime in the first quarter of 2008. The most likely start date according to insiders would be around the March time frame. The network reported that the show was an instant hit with viewers and will be renewed for another season along with its other hit show "Dirt". A spokesman for the network stated that "The Riches" drew a cumulative 5.9 million viewers per week which is in line with some of their other hit TV shows.
I can't wait. I just hope they already have the shows written or this stupid writers strike will mess everything up. -

Re: Watch The Riches
Tue, November 6, 2007 - 8:36 AMOh YAY! And I'm with you Amy... I will be very upset if I can't have new episodes to watch... -

Re: Watch The Riches
Thu, November 8, 2007 - 8:22 AMToo late. Ain't It Cool News just got a report that says "The Riches" writers are picketing and that Eddie and Minnie both joined the picket line yesterday. -

Re: Watch The Riches
Thu, November 8, 2007 - 1:58 PMWell of course the writers are picketing, but have any episodes been written and/or filmed yet?
**sigh**
Stupid, greedy people. Why can't they just give the writer's a bigger share of the profits. They deserve it. Any tv show is only as good as the writing, no matter who the actors are. -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 2:28 PMIt's so good to finally have this show back on the air. Last night's episode was great! -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, March 19, 2008 - 10:09 PMOh shit.
I've just now started watching it, and I don't remember *anything* about the real Doug Rich's best friend showing up. Is there someplace that I can watch the last couple of episodes of the last season before I start watching this season? -
-
Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 11:14 PMOkay, God knows I love Eddie, and this show is *incredibly* well done, but Jesus, I'm a nervous wreck by the end of each episode. I don't know how much more of this show I can take. -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 3:48 AMI think that's what makes the show so great. It really draws you in and makes you care about what happens to the characters. Can't wait for next week's episode! -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:50 PMOkay, I have four weeks' worth of The Riches saved up on my DVR, but I'm too cowardly to watch them. Without revealing any spoilers, can anyone tell me how much pain and anxiety I should brace myself for? -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 9:24 AMHey, anyone know why the 2nd season was something like... 6 episodes long??? I gather it was due to the aforementioned writers strike, but I was not expecting that HUGE let-down. PLEASE someone give me news that there will be a 3rd season!! Maybe I'll find out myself, since Eddie will be performing "Stripped" in my area! (sorry to brag, but I've been a fan of this adorable little man since high school and I NEVER thought I'd get the opportunity to see him live (in Pittsburgh of all places.) I wonder what he'll wear? any guesses? -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 9:39 AMWhen I saw him several months ago he rolled onto stage in jeans, a t-shirt and a sport jacket with a little goatee. Imagine my surprise! Still looking mighty hot though! -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 9:44 AMYup, writer's strike. That's what I heard. -

Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 6:19 AMFX has still not announced their lineup for next season, but since all the major networks have now done so an announcement shouldn't be too far away. FX stopped production of The Riches back in December when they ran out of scripts (thanks, strike!), but they only had seven episodes completed. Once the strike was over, FX decided it was going to be too expensive to get everyone back together to keep filming new episodes. Fortunately, cutting back on the season does not affect the series’ chances for third-season renewal. The Riches has a healthy following, so I don't see why they wouldn't bring it back. If they bring back Dirt, then they will definitely bring back The Riches.
BUT...to make matters worse...don't forget that the Screen Actor's Guild is going to strike this summer. If that happens, then ALL scripted shows for the fall season will be affected. Damn greedy studio heads and their not-cooperating-with-unions ways! -
-
Re: !!! TONIGHT !!!
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 7:57 AMThanks, that's very reassuring. I was afraid that the show might not have caught on (since I rarely like things most other people like) and that it might be over. It would be a shame because it is a beautifully crafted show with exceptional actors. I know that in our cheap society, it seems most people like glamor trash that's devoid of real art, talent, and depth. I can't get over what gets top ratings these days.
And as for the greedy studio heads, i figure it's like this, "hey, do you want a show or not??" It's sad how people don't want to pay for what makes them rich in the first place. If they're not on track with their exponential growth rate of wealth, year after year, they get stingy with those who are responsible for their success. Of course, there are alot of unions (in other arenas) who push and push until they run businesses into the ground, but something tells me, in the case of T.V. and Hollywood, that this is not the case. I dunno, maybe it's the wine, dining, and limousines.
